Believe. Aspire. Succeed.
In History this week, we continued to talk about why it is so important to remember the war, especially now that it has been over 100 years and peoples’ knowledge of the war is fading. We discussed that since WW1, there have been lots of other wars in which men and women have lost their lives for their countries, particularly during WW2. We also talked about why remembering the events and losses of wars are important and that they are remembered all over the world as well as nationally and locally.
We looked at the poppy installation at the Tower of London and started to recreate our own by making clay poppies.
In maths this week, we have been looking at 2D shapes. We have been talking about their properties as well as comparing and sorting the shapes into different groups.
We have also been making repeating patterns in maths this week using 2D shapes. Year 2 children have been rotating their shapes when making these patterns too!
