Science

For the start of this term children will be continuing their learning of materials. They started off by looking at different balls and why they are bouncy. They learnt that some balls are made from rubber and that they squash when they are bounced and then return to the original shape because rubber is elastic. They then tested 5 different balls to see which was the bounciest and why!

Children started this terms learning of Living Things and their Habitats by looking in the Mystical Garden for mini-beasts! We were looking for worms, bees, woodlice, ladybugs, butterflies, slugs, snails and beetles. We found mainly worms which were hiding under the soil away from predators. Next term we will continue this topic by looking at choice chambers, making bug hotels and looking at the habitats of different wildlife around the world!
