Maths
In Maths this week we have been looking at how larger groups of objects can be split into small groups. We have done this in different ways and have been talking about the relationship between the groups. We have been using a part, whole model to show the groups and we loved singing the song from Numberblocks about parts and wholes of numbers. Here is the link if you would like to watch again at home. Literacy
This week we started a new story called Handa's Hen, this is set in a contrasting environment to our last book. Handa and her friend Akeyo are looking for a hen called Mondi in Kenya. We have been looking at the colours that the illustrator has used to depict this hot, dry landscape and comparing it to 'Lost and Found' and the non fiction text from last week called 'What can live in the snow?'
The children have been formulating and writing questions about the text in their books.
