Engineering Fairytales

Children in year 2 had an amazing morning with STEM ambassadors from BAE Systems taking part in Engineering fairytales! Their first activity was to draw what they thought an engineer looked like, then they were tasked with making a tower as big as they could using just 4 pieces of paper and some tape! They completed some online engineering challenges and finished by designing and building a device to help Rapunzel escape her tower using lollypop sticks, tape, paperclips, paper, paper cups and string! Designs were absolutely amazing and consisted of elevators, zipwires, hot air balloons and ladders, We were extremely proud of the immense perseverance of the children, their innovation and behaviour! We certainly have some aspiring structural engineers in our midst! Well done everyone!
