Can I add using a number line?

This week year 1 and 2 have been learning how to use number lines to help with addition.

Can I subtract 1 digit from 2 digits?

Year 1 children have been using tens frames to build number sentences using subtraction.

Can I use number bonds and dienes to subtract?

Year 2 have been using part whole models, number bonds and number lines to start their work on subtraction.

Can I subtract 10's from a 2 digit number?

Year 2 have been practicing subtracting 10's from a 2 digit number by using dienes.

Can I subtract 2 digits from 2 digits?

Year 2 children have been subtracting 2 digits from 2 digits without crossing 10 by using dienes and pictorial representations to help them solve calculations.

Can I build arrays?

Year 1's have been using counters to build arrays and using vocabulary of columns and rows to describe them.

Can I write multiplication sentences?

Year 2's have been drawing arrays and writing multiplication sentences to represent them.

Can I make arrays from repeated addition calculations?

Year 1 children have been looking at repeated calculations and seeing if they can make arrays with them.

Can I find odd and even numbers?

Year 2 children have been looking at odd and even numbers, they had to prove which numbers were odd and why.
