We have loved playing handball this tem in PE. The improvement in the children's skills has been amazing!

In Science (biology) we have been looking at how animals adapt to their environment. We discussed Darwin's work on the finches of the Galapagos' Islands and which beak shape would be best to pick up different foods. .

In PE we have been doing gymnastics. We have really come a long way in a short period of time with our headstands and handstands.

Our Church School Value for this term is friendship. These are the things we will be thinking about in terms of friendship:

Why are friends important to you?

What does it mean to belong to a community of friends?

What are the qualities of a good friend?

Who is a role model that shows how to be a good friend?

What should we do when we disagree?

How can we protect and mend friendships?

Home learning: English, science and guided reading 18.10.21

Home learning 4.10.21 English, guided reading and science.

This week we had a STEM afternoon with the local RAF. Children were asked to design a "carbon zero" RAF base. They thought about how vehicles could be powered, accommodation, growing their own food and much more. They considered how they would do this using geothermal, wind, solar, hydro and biomass energy.

In RE this week we took a visit to our local church to look at some of the key Christian artifacts we could find.

In science this week we looked at a visual demonstration of how the digestive system works.

Week 3. In science this week our class have been looking at the circulatory system and making our own life size model. Lots of key vocabulary will be added to show the arteries and veins and how they carry oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.

We have had a great gymnastic lesson this week! We were looking at travelling and balances.
