Transition at Coningsby St. Michael’s
At Coningsby St. Michael’s, we welcome all children and their families into our Church of England school. We work in partnership with parents and carers, to support the whole family through times of transition and change.
We aspire for all children in our school family to have a positive experience of transition; at whatever age and stage of life this may happen, to ensure well-being, development and learning for all pupils, at all times.
We acknowledge that change is daunting and creates a range of different emotions. Every child needs to feel secure, happy and supported emotionally in order to thrive. During periods of transition, the needs of the individual must be met and respected. We observe and consider the learning journey that every child has been on before joining Coningsby St. Michael’s. By providing smooth transitions, we also believe children will develop life skills necessary to deal with change in the future.
At Coningsby St. Michael’s, Christian values are at heart of our school. Our church school values, the dedication of the staff and the community spirit of our children, provide solid foundations to support transition. We value all children and their families and aspire to provide a welcome that enables us to create an environment for smooth adjustment, providing a sense of belonging for both children and their families in order that all will have opportunities to succeed.
