Drawing and Talking Therapies

The Pastoral team (Ms Williams & Ms Wise) at Coningsby St Michael’s school, have recently completed intense training and are now qualified to deliver an exciting new intervention, called Drawing and Talking Therapies.

What is Drawing Talk Therapies?

Drawing and Talking Therapies is a 12-week therapeutic intervention program for children and young people. The tool allows children to bring what they need to their sessions; they lead and direct the sessions according to their feelings and drawings. This therapeutic approach allows pupils to discover and communicate emotions through a non-directed technique and as such sets it apart from other existing solution-focused, cognitive based therapies and interventions. Drawing is a different way to help children, express and channel their feelings rather than them using verbal language.

As accredited leaders we have identified your child as one that may benefit from this program. We hope you will see a difference in your child’s well-being, and we shall continue to share any updates with you.
