Position and Direction

Children have started their learning of position and direction by giving directions to their partners outside. They are using the directional vocabulary; forwards, backwards, left, right, up and down correctly.

Can I give directions around a treasure map?

Today children designed their own treasure maps. They drew different symbols and then used directional vocabulary to get around the maps.

This week children are learning about mass. They started by looking at the words heavier and lighter and found items around the classroom that they could compare. Then they used some weighing scales to weigh different items around the classroom using grams.

Over the next two weeks we will be recapping 2D and 3D shapes, we will be looking at their properties, comparing them and solving reasoning problems about them.
