Meet The Team

Pastoral Manager

Hello My Name, is ‘Ms Wise’

I am the Pastoral Manager here At Coningsby St Michaels Primary School.

During my career I have always worked with children and families, I have previously worked for the emotional and behaviour support service, with social services as part of the children with disabilities team, for the domestic abuse services as a children’s and young persons worker, for the teaching and learning centre for children who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from school.

I have worked for Coningsby St Michaels school since March 2022, in my role here as pastoral manager, I am a designated lead in safeguarding

I ensure that the families here at Coningsby School are supported in the best way possible, part of my role is to attend Team around the child meetings, Child in need meetings, Child protection conferences, I am solely responsible for the Looked after children here at school, I support your child with pastoral support plans, referring to healthy minds, completing Early help assessments, by identifying all the best ways possible to support the families that I work with and being able to find a solution together.

I have set up a mindfulness forest school therapeutic intervention for children who are identified as needing this amazing new intervention, this is in partnership with our partner school Holy Trinity primary school, which gives the children an opportunity to be able to learn new skills, build new friendships and learn resilience.

I have also most recently been trained in Drawing and talking therapies and I am very excited to be able to deliver this intervention to our children here at school.

We have an amazing room called the ‘Burrow’ where children can come and speak to us about any worries or concerns that they may have, the burrow is our safe pastoral room where children can come if there are experiencing a difficult time at school and are needing some time out of the classroom to be able to be supported to help reset and refocus themselves ready to return to learning.

Our pastoral team is completed by my Pastoral Learning mentor ‘Miss Williams’ whose role is also to support with our families here at school by delivering ELSA interventions, running the MKC heroes club and supporting our military families.

Pastoral Learning Mentor

Hello, I would like to introduce myself, I’m Ms Williams and I am the Pastoral Learning Mentor and Mental Health Lead here at Coningsby St Michael’s working in the Burrow supporting children with their everyday needs. I have been at CSM for nearly 16 years starting as a midday supervisor before becoming a Teaching Assistant, HLTA and now Pastoral Learning Mentor.

In my role I work with our Pastoral Manager Ms Wise to support our children socially and emotionally by attending Parent meetings including TACS and PSP’s and delivering interventions in both ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support) and Drawing and Talking Therapy. Alongside this I have weekly check ins with children to make sure they are settled and don’t have any worries or concerns.

For our service families I offer support while loved ones are deployed and for moving house or starting a new school. On a Tuesday I run MKC Heroes after school club where service children can attend to take part in activities and talk about service family life.

If you have any concerns or worries about your child/children then please don’t hesitate to contact me via class dojo, find me on the playground or alternatively email the school at enquires@coningsby.laat.co.uk
