Week 3

World Book Day

This week we have been reading lots of different books as part of World Book Day and the children enjoyed sharing their favourite books from home with the class. We have joined two live author events this week and have drawn characters and listened to the authors and illustrators talking about their books.  The children dressed up as their favourite book characters or in their pyjamas, they all looked amazing!

Literacy

We have started a new text this week which is the amazing and timeless classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children have enjoyed making their own books. We have also been studying Eric Carle’s illustrations in our art sessions this term as part of our work on collage.

Maths

We have been looking at repeating patterns this week. The children have been creating more complex patterns including circular, repeating patterns and spotting errors in patterns.
