At Coningsby St Michael’s, equality, diversity and inclusion are woven through every aspect of our curriculum and wider enrichment offer. Across all subjects, pupils engage with a rich curriculum that develops respect, celebrates difference, and prepares them for life in modern Britain. Enrichment experiences such as Forest School, STEM learning, Lyfta sessions, Diversity Days, community events and whole‑school celebrations (e.g., Diwali, Black History Month, World Book Day) intentionally promote understanding of global cultures, protected characteristics, and fundamental British values such as democracy, mutual respect, and individual liberty.

Our curriculum design ensures that learning is inclusive and accessible, enabling all pupils to develop knowledge, skills and personal attributes that reflect fairness, compassion and dignity. Subject‑specific opportunities such as RE explorations of world faiths, geography fieldwork, science investigations into the natural world, creative arts celebrating cultural expression, and PSHE sessions supporting relationships, health and citizenship provide meaningful contexts for developing social, moral, spiritual and cultural understanding.

Through leadership roles (School Council, House Captains, Collective Worship Council, Prefects), children experience democracy, teamwork and responsibility first‑hand, learning how their voice contributes to positive change. Our whole‑school experiences, live theatre, author visits, charity work, community singing and wider cultural events ensure pupils encounter diverse stories, perspectives and people, building empathy and a sense of belonging.
