This term we are using the film of The Little Mermaid to inspire our writing. We started by looking at the scenes to the song Under The Sea. We looked at the nouns then used adjectives to describe the nouns then put them together to make expanded noun phrases. We then used our senses to select noun phrases, added prepositions and wrote our setting descriptions. Children edited and improved their work and then wrote up their finished setting descriptions neatly.

Over the next two weeks the children will be using the scene where Ariel save Prince Eric from drowning as inspiration for their writing. Today they acted out the different scenes to help embed the story.
