Pastoral Support

Our pastoral team can offer support through one‑to‑one check‑ins, small‑group interventions, family communication, and close collaboration with teaching staff to ensure every child feels safe, understood, and well supported.

The Pastoral Hub:

The Pastoral Hub is a calm and supportive space designed for reset, reflection, and restorative conversation. It offers children a welcoming environment where they can pause, regulate, and re-engage positively with their learning. A range of bespoke therapeutic interventions is available. This includes sessions such as drawing and talking therapy, Lego‑based therapy, cognitive‑behavioural strategies, emotional‑regulation coaching, mentoring, sensory breaks, mindfulness activities, and restorative conversations. Through personalised support, we aim to develop a child’s resilience, emotional wellbeing, and readiness to thrive both academically and socially.

As an extension to the pastoral hub, our Sensory Room offers a quiet, calming sanctuary where children can sit peacefully, unwind, and reconnect with their emotions. The space includes soft lighting, tactile resources, gentle sounds, and sensory tools that help pupils self-regulate and find comfort. This environment is particularly supportive for pupils who benefit from moments of quiet reflection or sensory grounding before returning to learning

Who do we support?

The needs of a child are individual but some of the common issues supported by our amazing Pastoral Team include:

  • Friendship issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Low levels of resilience
  • Anxiety / worries
  • Problems managing anger
  • Attendance
  • Developing social skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Illness and Bereavement
  • Divorce and Separation
  • Parent on Deployment

We can also help you and your child by signposting to other support agencies such as Young Carers, Family Support or RELATE.

Whisper Boxes in Every Classroom

Whisper Boxes are available in every classroom and linked directly to the PSHE curriculum. They provide pupils with a safe, discreet way to share any concerns, worries, or things that are hard to talk about out loud. This system helps ensure that every child has a trusted route to express their voice and access support when they need it.
