We have been measuring items in our classroom using non-standard units, such as paperclips and cubes.
On Tuesday we had a STEM day and were set the challenge of creating a carbon neutral village. We looked at renewable energy sources. The children worked together in teams to think of all the things a village needs and created their villages. They then put together a presentation to tell everyone about their village.
In Maths we were estimating and measuring using cubes. We had a list of objects that we had to measure to see how many cubes long they are. We worked with a partner to find out.
As it is British Science week we decided a challenge was in order. We had to create a bridge using paper and tape that would be strong enough to hold weights.
