Home learning for Summer Term 2013
Year 1 & 2

Home learning for this school year will take the format of half termly topics which reflect work done in school. We would like you to be more involved with what we do in school, so we will give you suggestions about the sort of activities you might like to do with your child.
The work can be presented in any format e.g. written, filmed, photographed, drawn, modelled etc

This term our topic is Food glorious food.
Here are some ideas about what you might like to find out about.

  • What makes a healthy meal?
  • Keep a food diary.
  • Draw and label a plant
  • Make a list of plants you can see
  • Look at different types of fruit and vegetables, draw and make a list of them
  • Grow something from seed and keep a diary of it's growth
  • Make a bar graph of favourite foods for your family and friends

Please return to school for the week beginning 20th May to be shared as an end of topic discussion within the classroom.
Please feel free to do anything else that you and your child may find interesting.
We look forward to sharing some exciting projects!
Many thanks for your support.

Mrs Case

Thank you for your kind donations of fruit.
We had a wonderful time touching, smelling, tasting and drawing the fruits. We found new fruits to enjoy and fruits that we would never like to try again!
